We are currently seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager for BET Networks. Position provides full scope Human Resources Business Partner support to management and employees for BET Networks as well as supporting a few other client groups. Partner with client’s management team on all HR issues related to employee relations, organization structure, compensation, performance evaluation, staff development and HR administration. Provide support to employees by giving guidance and responding to questions and issues in a timely manner. Work on projects as assigned.

Organizational Effectiveness

Collaborate with Department Heads of assigned groups to orchestrate issues related to organizational re-structure (i.e. optimal org structure, selection of impacted staff, change management, talent evaluation and retention, etc.)

Make recommendations and influence decisions regarding HR issues that are in the best interest of the Department and Viacom.

Employee Relations

Provide counsel to Department Head, managers and employees on all employee relation issues; determine underlying issues, brainstorm on solutions; document process and follow up as needed

Advise management in appropriate resolution of complex or sensitive employee relations issues, minimizing legal risk and liability to the organization

Coordinate tactical issues related to organization re-structures (severance conversations, outplacement, re-staffing)

Partner with Employment Law and Investigations during investigations, and Openline issues 

Employee Development

Work with client groups as needed to ensure robust and effective goal setting and PMP process is conducted on timely basis

Identify, recommend and coordinate individual and group training as needed

Partner with Learning and Development to recommend methodology for individual and organizational development

Provide guidance to employees and managers on career growth and development
Staffing

Understand client group’s staffing needs and partner with Staffing Dept. to ensure qualified candidates are being sourced and referred to department in timely manner

Manage critical hire process for client groups and provide necessary documentation for position approval.

Manage Exit Interview processes; determine any trends and take proactive approach to resolve future issues

Compensation

Work with clients to update job descriptions as needed. Partner with Compensation Department on job evaluation process as related to promotions, salary adjustments, new positions, etc.).

Manage full merit/STIP process for client groups

Ensure communication flow of compensation related issues is delivered timely and appropriately to employees

Special Projects

Ad hoc reports and analysis in the areas of headcount, turnover and org charts as needed

As necessary, manage full or parts of department focused projects

Basic Qualifications

5+ years experience in Human Resources with direct exposure to recruiting, employee relations and staffing. Prior experience handling a client group is highly preferred.

College degree in business administration, human resources, psychology preferred.

Additional Qualifications

Previous experience supporting branded entertainment channel is preferable

Experience with working global media organization is beneficial

Solid knowledge of employment laws and sound HR principles

Effective business partner with ability to influence senior management and drive organizational effectiveness

Proven ability to deliver client focused HR solutions to business problems

Strategic thinker with the ability to tactically translate ideas to workable solutions

Demonstrated ability to deliver operational excellence and proven time management skills to multiple task in a fast paced, dynamic environment

Demonstrated sound judgment and ability to work autonomously or as part of high functioning team

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

High level of interpersonal and diplomacy skills
